The conference was attended by representatives of railways, cargo owners, transport and logistics companies and government authorities. Within the framework of the conference, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, with the support of ITECO, presented a platform for piggyback transportation of a new design - it allows transporting semitrailers of various types. Thus, consumers benefit from the benefits of rail and road transport. 

The principle of this type of transportation is the possibility of placing an automobile semitrailer on a railway platform. The semitrailer is detached from the truck, installed in a special “basket” and attached to the platform car. At the unloading point, the opposite process takes place: the semi-trailer is removed from the train and reattached to the truck, continuing the rest of the route as part of a conventional road train. 

Currently, ITECO carries out piggyback transportation between Moscow and Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Ussuriisk. In the near future, it is planned to launch piggyback traffic in new directions.
