JSC TFK KAMAZ transferred two KAMAZ-54901 LNG vehicles to ITECO Russia LLC for test operation. The production of the gas-powered version of the truck started last fall, and the diesel version has been produced for 6 years. It is symbolic that in 2019, the test operation of the new generation K5 KAMAZ-54901 trucks was also entrusted to ITECO drivers - as one of the most experienced in the freight transportation industry, and in 2021 the company acquired one of the largest batches of flagship trucks - 1,000 units.
The KAMAZ-54901 LNG truck (meets the requirements of ADR, the Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) is a gas-powered version of the flagship of the K5 generation. In this modification, the vehicle is equipped with a KAMAZ R6 gas engine (Euro-5), an automated gearbox and two cryotanks holding 1060 liters of gas. The use of LNG allows to significantly reduce fuel costs with a cruising range of up to 1600 km on one refueling.
The plant notes that LNG trucks are assembled on the main assembly line in a single production flow and are equipped with special equipment in the gas-powered vehicle building, opened in the company in 2015.
The equipment transferred to ITECO was sent to the motor transport enterprise in Tver and will be used to transport containers. The results of testing will be sent by the company's specialists to the automobile plant after completion of the test operation, which will last 2 months.
